About the building

The listed chocolate factory directly on the Fleet was designed in 1908 by the architect Theodor Speckbötel and built for the confectionery manufacturer Reese & Wichmann. In 1997, the former factory site in Hammerbrook underwent extensive refurbishment, was extended by additional storeys and brought onto the Hamburg property market as office and residential lofts. This unusual location has been used on several occasions by the film and television industry as a set for feature films.

The Schokoladenfabrik is accessed via Wendenstraße. An almost historic cobbled lane leads directly onto the site, where you can park conveniently right in front of the building. Passing through a large archway, you reach the glass lift, which takes you up to your office floor.

Situated on the Südkanal, the Schokoladenfabrik site has its own boat landing stage. Anyone wishing to travel to the office by boat in the morning can make that a reality here. During the lunch break, this picturesque site attracts employees of the resident companies and invites them to spend time by the water.
