About the building
This office property is a Hamburg symbol of the war and of the reconstruction in the decades that followed. The "Afrikahaus", which extends from Große Reichenstraße to Willy-Brandt-Straße, was built at the end of the 19th century as a Kontorhaus for the trading company C. Woermann, founded in 1837, in Hamburg's Altstadt. The architect Martin Haller designed the façade in a way that highlights the company's overseas trading links.
The colour scheme, for instance, follows the shipping company's presentation at the time. The preservation of the historic façades and contemporary fit-out standards were the guiding principles of a high-quality full refurbishment at the end of the 20th century. Your future office, listed as a historic monument since 1972, therefore comes with a considerable history.
Your workspaces feature high Prussian cap ceilings, period doors, wall mosaics and cast-iron columns. Combined with glass partitions and large window elements, they provide excellent natural light in the office space and a loft-style atmosphere.
