About the building
The Geesthof, located directly at Hauptbahnhof, was designed in 1927 by the architect Hermann Höger for the Gesundheitsamt Hamburg. The narrow building gap, crossed by a railway line, presented a particular challenge. As rail operations were not to be disrupted during the construction phase and no structural components of the underground line could be loaded or touched, a steel skeleton structure was the only feasible option. In the course of repositioning the property, two additional storeys were added to the Geesthof, creating a total office space of more than 5,000 m².
The new interior design of the Geesthof shapes the character of the building through targeted design elements in the style of the 1920s. Influences from film & music, art & design, architecture as well as fashion & lifestyle are taken up, reinterpreting the charm of the period of construction and combining it with modern elements. The colour scheme is based on the world-famous painting by Tamara de Lempicka, "Young Girl in Green", created in the 1920s.
With a choice of efficient open-space concepts, quiet cellular layouts or combi offices, the modern spaces can be tailored entirely to your requirements. Hamburger Hauptbahnhof is only a few minutes away. The popular district of St. Georg, with an excellent selection of restaurants and bars, is also right in your new neighbourhood. For shopping after work, Spitalerstraße and Mönckebergstraße await you.
