About the building

Today's EMPORIO, formerly the German headquarters of Unilever, was built as an office building between 1961 and 1964. In the course of several conversion works, the tower was even raised by two storeys to 23 upper floors. From here you can enjoy, 365 days a year, with the Elbe on one side and the Alster on the other, an unobstructed view across the Gänsemarkt and out over the Alster.

The centre of the EMPORIO office building, which houses the lifts, consists of three trapezoids arranged in a triangular shape, with a rectangular building section extending from each of their sides. Incidentally, this geometric form of the EMPORIO Office Tower has been a listed building since 2000.
