About the building

The "Speersorthaus" is located in the heart of Hamburg's Altstadt, between Mönckebergstraße and Spitalerstraße and close to the popular Kontorhausviertel. From here you can reach various train and bus stops in just a few steps, and the Hauptbahnhof is only a stone's throw away. The former "Wattyhaus" was originally built in 1911. The façade of the former Wattyhaus has been preserved, but was given a modern roof extension. Between 1990 and 1992, the building was completely gutted and combined with the neighbouring building to form a single property. Since then, the complex has borne the name "Speersorthaus".
